Learn West Coast Swing in Tucson

What to expect on your first visit

A group lesson introduces a small set of skills; a social is open practice and dancing, not a private lesson. Arrive before the published start so you can check in and tell the teacher you are new.

• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that let you move without gripping the floor too much. Ask the venue about its shoe policy.
• Check whether the class requires a partner, registration or a particular level. Partner policies differ between organizers.
• Start with the beginner or foundations level. You can watch intermediate material rather than feeling obliged to join.
• Ask before dancing, respect a “no,” and keep unfamiliar dips or lifts off the social floor.
• Check the actual date, venue and price through the listing’s organizer links. A normal weekly schedule may have a holiday or workshop exception.

November exception: TSDC’s Nov 19, 2026 evening is Phoenix Grey’s special workshop night: workshops 7–8 PM and 8–9 PM, social 9–10:30 PM, $10 members / $15 guests, no free admissions. Do not assume regular beginner-night pricing applies.
